Godfrey: Man charged with second offense of Retail Theft
(KMOV) – A Godfrey man has been charged for allegedly stealing from the Godfrey Schnuck’s Store.
John Carter Jr., 58, was charged for a second subsequent Retail Theft after allegedly stealing the Godfrey Schnuck's store on 2712 Godfrey Road, police said.
Schnuck’s Store employees reportedly witnessed him put a bottle of Tanqueray liquor in his pants and walk out of the store without paying for it, a police report said.
An employee confronted Carter in the parking lot when Carter threw the bottle to the ground and drove off, the report said. The employee got his license plate number and called police, who then arrested Carter at his residence, police said.
