(KMOV) -- A teenager is in jail after allegedly shooting a teenage girl with a shotgun.
Around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 100 block of Fiedler Lane in Fenton for reports of a shooting.
When authorities arrived, they found a 17-year-old girl who had been shot in the lower torso with a shotgun.
Authorities say that several teenagers were drinking at the residence when an argument erupted.
The suspect, Jake West, 18, allegedly got out a shotgun and threatened everyone to leave the residence.
West then allegedly pointed the shotgun at the victim and asked her if she wanted to keep her knee. He then reportedly fired one round from the shotgun into the victim’s knee.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where she is in serious but stable condition.
West has been charged with first-degree assault with serious physical injury and armed criminal action.
He is being held on $50,000 bond.
