(KMOV) -- A stormy afternoon in the region has cancelled plenty of plans Saturday.
Winds up to 50 miles per hour and hail and inch in diameter hit the St. Louis area Saturday.
In Edwardsville, the Route 66 Festival was cancelled after tents were knocked over and chairs were sent flying. The band on stage at the time was asked to stop and they turned off the electricity. Then the heavy rain and high speed winds came.
Power at nearby buildings was also cut off by the storms for a time.
Other parts of the Metro East are cleaning up the mess left behind by the storms.
