We drove around St. Charles County for about 90 minutes early this morning checking on reports of storm damage.
There were some trees and dozens of large limbs down as well as some siding ripped off homes apparently from the strong winds.
We heard reports of lightning striking homes, but we did not find anything that appeared to be scortched.
Two large, portable basketball goals were on the ground along Mannington Drive in Cottleville. We saw some siding off a chimney as well.
On Granada Court in St. Peters part of a tree fell on a mobile home. The family was inside at the time but got out safely. The tree did not go into the house but did some damage to the roof according to a crew on the scene.
A few blocks away I met Larry Johnson who was relieved. A big tree fell in his yard just a few feet from his home and parked car. The tree missed both.
Glad to say, nothing I saw this morning reminded me of the incredible tornado damage we've seen in recent months.
