Alorton: Former police chief sentenced to house arrest

(KMOV)—A former Alorton police chief has been sentenced to house arrest and probation after filing false tax returns.

According to officials, a judge has ordered Robert L. Cummings to pay the IRS nearly $25,000 in restitution after filing the false tax returns. Cummings claimed false dependents and deductions on his tax returns for seven years.
 
Cummings also paid cash to the custodial parents of eight children in order to claim deductions for those children.
