(KMOV)--A Collinsville man was charged Tuesday with aggravated cruelty to animals, after allegedly commanding two German Shepherds to attack a cat.
Police say that on June 10th around 9 p.m. police were called to the 3200 block of VFW Lane in Collinsville, Illinois for an animal cruelty complaint.
The complainant told deputies that Denis Soto had commanded him two German Sheppard’s to attack a cat that was walking across a vacant lot.
Two juveniles reportedly witnessed the dogs capture and kill the cat.
According to officials Soto allegedly gave him dogs positive praise as they killed the animal.
The owner of the cat has not been identified. The complainant requested and was allowed to handle the burial of the animal.
Bond for Soto was set at $15,000.
