(KMOV.com) -- A St. Louis man was critically injured when he was thrown from his SUV after it hit a concrete median and rolled.
The accident happened around 1:30 Saturday morning on Interstate 64 in Illinois, just east of Route 159 in St. Clair County. Police found the 39-year-old man pinned under his Ford Explorer.
The far left and center lanes of Eastbound I-64 at that location were closed for nearly an hour as crews cleared the wreckage. Police said alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash and the man was not wearing his seat belt. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The driver was transported to St. Louis University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
