Mercy volunteers head to Joplin for tornado relief

(KMOV) – Mercy co-workers in St. Louis are traveling to Joplin to help in the clean-up efforts from an EF-5 tornado that struck the town on May 22.

Nearly 200 workers will board buses to Joplin over the few weekends to clean up debris, sort donations and supplies, and work at call centers.

Workers will travel to Joplin at 6 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and will return to St. Louis later that evening.

Mercy co-workers will be working approximately from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
