(KMOV) -- The Mississippi River is running fast and high on the St. Louis riverfront.
As of Wednesday morning the river stage is 32.4 feet, 2.4 feet above flood stage. Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard is flooded, as is the entrance to the parking garage just north of the Eads bridge.
Tourists visiting the riverfront took in the flooding, as some children played in the murky water.
The highest crest on the Mississippi River downtown happened on August 1, 1993 reaching 49.58 feet.
