ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Two people were seriously injured a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 270.

The accident happened around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday on I-270 at Route 367 in north St. Louis County.

Gwenell Campbell, 36, of Florissant, Missouri, and James Annable, 57, of Worden, Illinois, were taken to the hospital immediately after the crash, and are listed in serious condition.

Joseph Burch of Lexington, Missouri, was also involved in the accident, but was not hurt.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident happened after Campbell stopped her van in one of the lanes of I-270. Authorities say she got out of the van and was standing in the highway.

Authorities say Annable was driving a motorcycle behind Campbell. He slowed down to avoid hitting Campbell's van. Burch was in a truck behind the motorcycle but didn't see that the motorcycle had stopped. Burch's truck plowed into Annable's motorcyle and then hit Campbell.

The crash forced crews to shut down the entire roadway for 90 minutes.
