(KMOV) – With a heat advisory in effect until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, residents throughout the St. Louis area are being warned to take precaution.
Local health experts say it is extremely important to as stay cool as possible when it's hot outside in order to prevent exhaustion or illness.
Some symptoms of a heat-related sickness, include: fatigue, excessive thirst, muscle aches and cramps.
During the heat advisory, residents are urged to stay indoors if possible, carry a water bottle and run errands in the morning or evening rather than the afternoon when temperatures are at their highest.
