(KMOV.com) – Police said a St. Louis man was killed when his truck was hit by a train in Freeburg, Ill.
Authorities said the man was driving a delivery truck and had just made a delivery to a home on a private street. Police said the truck was crossing over an unmarked railroad crossing but the driver failed to see an oncoming freight train. The train engineer told police he honked his horn, but the truck driver was oblivious to the danger and was not attempting to beat the train to the tracks.
According to police, the train was a freight train from Canada. Authorities are not releasing the victim’s name because his family has not been notified.
