ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A man was sentenced to life without parole Thursday for killing his wife outside a north St. Louis County salon in April, 2012.

Marion Lamont Arrington was found guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action after shooting his wife, 33-year-old Jamie L. Fields-Arrington, in a parking lot outside the Headlines Beauty Salon in the 7900 block of Page.

Authorities say Arrington worked as a probation and parole officer with the State of Missouri.

Police said witnesses reported seeing an argument between the couple in a vehicle in the parking lot outside the salon before the shooting.

Arrington had no previous convictions of violent crimes, but had three orders of protection filed against him by a former wife.
