(KMOV) -- With more snow possibly on the way, cities are literally pouring money on the streets and city officials are starting to get a bit worried.

“That dome was full at the beginning of the season,” said Manchester Public Works Director Bob Ruck, of their salt supply.

Ruck has watched the pile of salt reduce quickly: too quickly. So far this year, they’ve had to treat 65 miles of roadway in the city eight times: last year it was six for the entire season.

Now, he’s ordered 600 more tons of salt at price tag of tens of thousands. Likely, he says he’ll have to adjust their budget soon, just to get by.

“We are concerned as is everyone else in the Metropolitan area and if winter would go away, we’d all be happy but it is what it is,” said Ruck.

To make any budget adjustments will be up to the aldermen.
