(KMOV.com) -- Owners of the condemned tower in Moline Acres now have until Friday to get an elevator working.
City officials and residents of the Lewis and Clark Tower on Route 367 met Monday night to discuss their options for keeping the building open.

“We’re going to try and work with the condominium association and with the condominium community, so we’ll try to get this accomplished,” said Fire Chief Joe Bommarito. “The residents that live there are entitled to a nice place to live.”
The only condo board member says money is the big problem as many residents are way behind in paying their fees. She told News 4 one resident owes close to $30,000.
