(BaseballStL) -- Life has certainly changed for Michael Wacha.  The 2013 NLCS MVP says this past off-season was quite different than any off-season he’s ever had.

“A lot more people wanting to get a hold of you,” Wacha quipped. “A lot of radio stations wanting me to be a guest.  It was nice though.  I got to visit with a lot of family.  It was really good to see all them again.”

The 22-year old phenom took the baseball world by storm in the postseason.  He started five games, going 4-1 with a 2.64 ERA in October.  The Texas A&M alum held opponents in the playoffs to just a .151 average while 33 batters in just over 30 innings.

Because of all that success, however, he knows fans and media alike are going to start having crazy thoughts for 2014.

“I’m sure there’s going to be some high expectations from people but I can’t pay much attention to those guys,” Wacha said. “I have my own expectations for myself that I try to live up to and if I’m able to do that thing will be pretty good.”

In fact, Wacha doesn’t even think his rotation spot is guaranteed next year.  He believes, like anyone else, he needs to come to spring training and earn a job.
