(KMOV) -- The Fairview Heights Police Department received a phone call about a bomb threat at the St. Clair Square Mall on Thursday.
A man called around 3:45 and indicated he had left multiple devices inside the mall, prompting a full-fledged search of the premises.
Patrons and workers of four major department stores, 140 specialty stores and 10 restaurants were safely evacuated by the Fairview Heights Police and Fire Departments.
The search was conducted by bomb dogs from St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, Secretary of State Police, U.S. Marshals Service, and Scott AFB. After a complete search, the all-clear was given at 8:30 p.m.

The mall re-opened Friday and the investigation is ongoing.
