Madison County woman charged with heroin possession

(KMOV)-- A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a woman on Route 140 for improper lane usage, but upon further inspection discovered heroin and clonazepam in her vehicle.

After a subsequent search of Cathy A. Sewell's vehicle, police found three hypodermic syringes and a spoon, which was contaminated with heroin residue.

Sewell is charged with possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor charges of illegal possession of a syringe, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage.

Sewell was transported to the Madison County Jail where she was held pending a formal review of facts by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office, with bond set at $30,000.00.
