(KMOV Sports) -- The Billikens are a mentally tough team that’s been able to avoid letdowns against inferior opponents the past few seasons.

Wednesday night's game against St. Bonaventure could be considered a “trap” game. The Bonnies come to Chaivetz with an 11-5 record, and very nearly upset 15th ranked Massachusetts on the road last Saturday.

“We just look at every team the same,” said Jordair Jett, the player of the Week in the Atlantic 10. “Coach always says the name on the jersey doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter how big the school is, we look at them the same and try to come out with the win.”

The 24th ranked Billikens will try for a 10th straight victory. SLU is doing it with defense, allowing opponents less than 60 points per game for the third straight season, and ranking among the national leaders at 57.6 points allowed per game. They’ve held their last five opponents to a shooting percentage of 35.8.

Crews continues to pound his team on the fundamentals. “A block out is a block out. Doesn’t matter if there’s no one in the stands or 15,000, if it’s on TV or not. It’s either a good block out or it’s not. A good shot or not a good shot. I’m a simpleton.

There’s good basketball and bad basketball. We’re just concentrating on playing good basketball.”
