(KMOV) – Things are looking brighter for the owner of an East St. Louis cafe, destroyed by would-be thieves.
Workers are nearly finishing with major repairs to Earlean’s Cafe near the Emerson Park Metro stop. Just days before Christmas, thieves drove through the front window in a stolen church van, trying to steal an ATM. They could not remove it. When a contractor from Pacific saw this story on News 4, he offered to repair the cafe for free. A fund to help the owner has been established at Regions Bank of Edgemont.
