159 Homes damaged in Fort Leonard Wood after storms, organization seeks donations

(KMOV)--An organization is seeking donations to help military families who suffered damage to their home on Friday at Fort Leonard Wood.

Hope for Heroes wants to provide support to families whose homes were damaged from by last week’s tornado.

159 homes were damaged and 41 homes were completely destroyed.

Authorities say operations are in the process of relocating close to 300 military and families members.

Hope for Heroes Xi Chi Chapter of ESA INTL, O’Fallon Illinois are hoping to provide additional immediate support to those military families in need.

Hope for Heroes is looking for: new or slightly used winter clothing (all ages and sexes), new unopened underwear for all ages male and female, sheets, blankets, pillows, hygiene items from infant through adults, diapers all sizes, dry goods, paper products, bath towel & wash cloths, cleaning supplies, canned goods, small kitchen, dining and cooking utensils, toys and school supplies for all age groups.

Gift cards are also being accepted.
