MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Ivan Aska scored 13 points and Murray State won its fifth in a row Thursday night in a 71-46 victory over SIU-Edwardsville.
The Racers (9-4) enjoyed a 41-29 advantage in rebounds against the Cougars, who are joining Murray State in the Ohio Valley Conference, but won't play a conference schedule until next season.
Murray State, which got its 24th straight home win, trailed only three times in the first 2:22. B.J. Jenkins' 3-pointer with 17:38 left in the first half put the Racers ahead for good, 7-6, and they went on to lead by 26 points late in the second half.
Jenkins and Shawn Jackson added 12 points apiece. Aska and Jenkins each had seven rebounds.
The Cougars (4-12) struggled in the second half, making only 6 of 26 shots from the field -- none from 3-point territory -- and only 8 of 16 free throws.
LeShaun Murphy led SIUE with 11 points.
