(KMOV) -– After years of discussion and debate, St. Louis City and St. Louis County will be smoke-free on Sunday.
The ban includes lobbies, elevators, bathrooms and any common areas. Those caught smoking could be fined $50.
Restaurants caught allowing smoking could lose their business licenses and could also be fined $500.
Some businesses can receive an exemption.
This does not include Lambert Airport. The smoking lounges in the airport will disappear. Smokers will soon have to go outside to smoke, which means going back through security to get to the gate.
