(KMOV)-- A local man says he got quite the shock this morning as he drove alone Hampton near Chippewa in south St. Louis: he saw a small child wandering a lone, heading toward the busy, four-lane traffic.
Jimmy Robbins saw the two-year-old boy and immediately stopped.
Police say the boy was playing with his four-year-old sibling when the boy left the house. Police were already called, and the parents were already searching for their son when the boy was found near Hampton.
The toddler had made it 500 yards before Robbins found him.
The Division of Family Services plan to follow up with the family.
