(KMOV) – Both Missouri and Illinois road crews say they are already working to keep the roads as clear as they can for Friday’s anticipated winter snowfall.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says its crews are pre-treating roads and will have every plow available out on the roads.
The state’s top priority will be the interstates.
The city of St. Louis says it plans to have crews out on Friday as well. This is to make sure the roads are safe for last-minute shoppers.
St. Louis City is also pre-treating roads with salt brine. But the real concern is that the streets will be slick Friday evening, just in time for the Christmas Eve rush.
The city says it plans to work 45-50 crews on Christmas Eve, and if necessary, on Christmas Day.
