(KMOV) -- A driver is dead after being shot by two men who asked for directions.

The incident happened early Wednesday morning at Maple and Hamilton in west St. Louis.

Police say John Liggins, 20, along with other passengers were in a Pontiac Grand Am when two men in another car pulled up, asked for directions, then shot Liggins in the head and shoulder.  His car then grazed a building, before coming to rest on a sidewalk.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but later died.  A passenger in his car suffered minor injuries.

No arrests have been made, nor is there any indication the victims and suspects knew each other.
