(KMOV) – A bank foreclosure is causing a big eyesore in south St. Louis City.

Neighbors say the situation boiled over when thieves stole copper pipes from the home on Monday, causing a big flood.

The home is located on Texas Avenue near Jefferson. Someone snatched out the windows and busted through the doors.

Neighbor Curtis Morrison says he blames Bank of America. He says the bank foreclosed on the property in 2009, and has done nothing to maintain the property.

Despite the bank’s slow response, the city has stepped in to maintain the yard. Workers even placed a condemned sign on the home.

But that still has done little to motivate the ban to step up to the plate.

Calls to Bank of America from News 4 have not been returned.

Crews did shut off water inside the building, but Morrison says he believes will come back since no one is looking after the property.
