(KMOV) – The Maryland Heights police officer who was shot in the face over the weekend underwent surgery on Monday.
Those who know Sgt. Eagan say the surgery went well and that he is doing fine.
Sgt. Eagan is a 25-year veteran of the police force in Maryland Heights. He was shot in the face early Saturday morning while working on an investigation, sitting in an unmarked car along Jennings Station Road.
Family friend Larry Kendrick says Sgt. Eagan even managed a smile as he was taken into surgery.
Police are still looking for the gunman who shot Eagan, and anyone with information should call police or CrimeStoppers.
