(KMOV)-- A jail escape in Lincoln County may lead to the redesign of as many as 300 other jails nationwide.
According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Lincoln County Jail officials say two inmates were able to escape last month by climbing into a drop ceiling and crawling through an air duct to the roof.
One of the escapees, John Wesley Jones, is a suspect in the multi-million dollar ATM Solutions heist. Both men were eventually captured.
Lincoln County authorities say changes have been made, but the company that designed the jail is checking to see if similar changes should be made at the hundreds of others it designed.
