(KMOV) -- A man who escaped from Bel-Ridge police late Thursday evening is back in police custody.
Police say Christopher Eugene Thorps, 22, is charged with evading police custody after he escaped from a traffic stop at Natural Bridge and Hanley.
Authorities discovered the suspect had three felony warrants out for him related to a shooting.
After police arrested the Thorps, he managed to get out of a police cruiser while still wearing handcuffs.
Thorps was spotted running down the street after attempting to break into a local woman's home.
Thorps' father turned his son in to the Bel-Ridge Police Department around 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Police are currently investigating how the suspect was able to get out of the police cruiser.
