(KMOV) -- Swansea police are hoping a new photo will help them catch the suspect wanted in a reported kidnapping earlier this week.

The photo shows a late model, blue vehicle on route 159. Police believe this vehicle is the car used in the kidnapping.

As reported earlier, a teenage girl was kidnapped at gunpoint while walking home along Route 159 near Bronze Point Blvd. on Tuesday, officials say.

The ordeal ended at the Swansea MetroLink station in Swansea, Illinois. The girl is reported to be safe.

Police say a 17-year-old girl told them she was walking home when a man in his 50s to 60s forced her into a car at gunpoint.

From there, he reportedly took her on a terrifying two-mile ride to the Swansea MetroLink station.

Officials say the teen flagged down some people who called 911.

Police are calling the incident an armed kidnapping and robbery.
