ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- All eastbound lanes have been reopened after a police chase ended on Interstate 70 at Bircher in north St. Louis on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities said this started when an officer on patrol observed a woman being forcefully removed from her car around 12:15 p.m. on the parking lot of Aldi's on West Florissant and Dunn.

The suspect drove away in the victim's car and the officer pursued the vehicle to I-70 where the car crashed into the median at Bircher.  A police cruiser caught on fire after driving onto a dry grassy area which sparked the flame, according to officers.

Authorities said the suspect ran from the scene but was apprehended by responding police officers.

There are no reports of any injuries.
