(KMOV) -- A Collinsville man is in police custody after attempting to back a semi-tractor trailer into the Madison County Court House early Monday morning.
The incident occurred at the court house in Edwardsville, Illinois located on 157 North Main Street around 4:15 a.m.
Authorities say 42-year-old Roy L. Conger intentionally attempted to back a 2010 International Semi-tractor trailer combination into the south entrance to the courthouse on St. Louis Street.
According to police, Conger's vehicle became stuck on the courthouse steps and the suspect fled the scene shortly after his attempt.
Police say the man admitted to committing the act because he was upset over child support issues.
The suspect later turned himself into authorities at the Madison County Jail and was arrested by Edwardsville Police Officers.
Conger is currently facing pending charges of Criminal Damage to State Supported Property, valued at over $500.
The suspect has been placed on a felony hold in the Madison County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
