(KMOV) – A two-mile stretch of Brentwood Blvd. near the Galleria in St. Louis County will not be repaired until 2015.
Some of the pavement on Brentwood Blvd. is crumbling and a lot of that came from wear-and-tear from when the road was used as a detour during the Interstate 64 reconstruction project a few years ago.
The city of Brentwood has complained that St. Louis County promised to make upgrades to Brentwood soon after the I-64 project was completed at the end of 2009. However, the county says it never made that promise, and repairs to Brentwood Blvd. is not an emergency situation. It says there are dozens of other roads in greater need of repair.
Brentwood says it has gotten several complaints from drivers who say the roads are difficult to navigate, and notes that the traffic count is much higher than it was years ago.
The county says it has a limited budget and Brentwood does not rank high on the to-do list.
