DENVER (AP) -- Denver police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Fort Carson soldier last month.
In a release Saturday, police said 22-year-old Ricky Scott was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of murder. No further details were released, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Silva was shot July 23 near a Denver motel where he was staying. He was about to be discharged from the Army and was waiting to meet his father so they could drive back to his hometown of Columbia, Ill.
The Denver Post reports that Silva was last seen walking his dog and cat near the motel but police don't believe his pets were with him when he was shot.
