(KMOV)-- Police are investigating after a vacant house was intentionally set on fire for the second time this month in East St. Louis.
This happened around 3 a.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Winstanley.
Authorities said the vacant house fire spread to the home next door occupied by two adults and a son. The son was set to leave for college today.
The family of three was able to get out the home safely. Since the roof caught on fire, it spread and heavily damaged the 2nd floor of their home.
Authorities said the fire spread to a third home damaging some vinyl siding. The occupants in this house were able to make it out safely.
Authorities said the fire at the vacant home was also set on August 12.
