(KMOV) – A 19-year-old man was killed during a gun battle outside of a convenience store in north St. Louis County late Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred at the Moline Acres Mini Mart located at the intersection of Chambers and Lord around 11:30 p.m.

According to police, shots rang out in the parking lot shortly after the store closed for the evening.

Police reports say the victim, Charles Sloan Jr., was wounded after several shots were fired in the parking lot.

After the victim was shot, officers say he was driven to a home located in the 1100 block of Duke Street in Castle Point, where he was later found dead by police.

Police hope to retrieve surveillance video from the owner to get a better idea of what happened.

Authorities do believe multiple people were involved in this shooting, however an exact number is not known at this time.

A joint investigation into this shooting is currently underway by the Moline Acres and St. Louis County Police Departments.
