(KMOV) – Neighbors insist that Tuesday night’s motorcycle accident that killed a 20-year-old man in St. Charles County could have been prevented.

The victim, John Gomez, was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a power pole at the intersection of Dingledine and Towers in St. Charles. He was driving more than 100 miles an hour in a 35 mile-per-hour speed zone.

One resident in the area says changing the two-way stop sign into a four-way stop sign could prevent accidents.

Upgrades have been made to the intersection in recent years.
