(KMOV) – Ninety dogs were rescued today by the Humane Society of Missouri from a “hoarding situation” near Doniphan, Missouri.
The dogs were found in outside pens, a barn and an abandoned house trailer in malnourished condition.
Many of the dogs are extremely thin with severe hair loss and are suffering from skin infections, eye injuries and parasites. Several decomposing dog carcasses and scattered dog remains were also found on the property.
Rescuers believe little to no veterinary care was provided to the animals.
The dogs are expected to arrive in St. Louis between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. tonight.
