Trucker caught transporting $4-5 million worth of drugs in Caseyville

(KMOV) – The U.S. Attorney General for the Southern District of Illinois announced Tuesday that a Massachusetts trucker caught in Caseyville, Ill. was convicted of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine following a three-day trial in July.

Rohan Heron, 37, of Springfield, Mass., was operating a semi-tractor trailor when he was caught in Caseyville, transporting 1,300 pounds of marijuana and 28 kilograms of cocaine intended for distribution in East St. Louis and Cleveland, Ohio.  
 
Heron’s sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 26, and he is facing federal prison sentences ranging from between five years to life imprisonment, a fine of up to $4 million and a term of supervised release after five years.
 
The drugs’ street values were estimated between $4 and $5 million.
