(KMOV.com) -- One person was seriously injured and two others were killed after a head-on crash along Interstate 70 in St. Peters, Missouri.
According to St. Peter's police, the accident happened around 5 p.m. on Friday evening. Officers said a 22-year-old female driver from O'Fallon, Missouri was traveling westbound on North Service Road along I-70. When she neared the Highway 370 interchange she crossed the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Saundra Carlin, 74, and Mary Silver, 65, from New Melle, Missouri, were in the other vehicle. They were both killed in the accident.
Police are now investigating to determine why the 22-year-old driver crossed the center line. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. She is listed in serious condition, but her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
