(KMOV) – All lanes of eastbound Interstate 64 will be closed between Jefferson to the Poplar Street Bridge in downtown St. Louis starting at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The lanes will be closed for bridge work until 3 p.m. on Sunday.
In addition, two lanes on the westbound Poplar Street Bridge will close at 5 a.m. on Saturday and crews plan to reopen the lanes by 5 p.m. on Sunday. One eastbound lane on the Poplar Street Bridge will close from 5 a.m. on Saturday to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Missouri Department of Transportation urges commuters to use alternate routes such as Interstate 255, or the Eads, McKinley or Martin Luther King bridges.
Crews will be making repairs on the bridge’s driving surface and will also perform earthquake seismic work during the closure.
