(KMOV.com) – The St. Clair County Prosecutor’s Office annonuced its employees are taking mandatory drug tests.
The testing program is being implemented because several St. Clair County officials have been tied to drug use or accused of possessing drugs.
Judge Michael Cook resigned in May after being charged with heroin possession, and the death of Judge Joe Christ, who authorities believe died of a drug overdose. A probation office employee is also accused of supplying heroin to both judges.
Prosecutor Brendan Kelly said nobody has tested positive. Kelly also took the test.
