(KMOV.com) – Police are seeking charges against a St. Louis man after they say he left behind evidence that linked him to a burglary.
On November 10, police report the victim entered her home in the 1400 block of Coolidge in St. Louis County.
After hearing someone in the home, court documents show she fled the residence and called police.
When officers arrived, they found two televisions near the back door along with a backpack containing a gaming console in the back yard.
The next day, the victim found a cell phone in her home that did not belong to her.
Police determined the phone belonged to 21-year-old Jelani Bouchillon. The victim said she doesn’t know Bouchillon and there was no reason for him to be in her home.
He charged with burglary and attempted stealing and is being held by the University City Police Department.
