BRIDGETON, Mo. (AP) -- Charter Communications is adding 400 new jobs in the St. Louis area.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Charter plans a new call center that will open early next year in Bridgeton. The cable TV company plans to move into a building that Western Union closed in 2008. The company says that ultimately, the number of workers there could grow to 800.
The expansion will mean that Charter will have nearly 3,000 St. Louis-area workers. The company last year said it was relocating top executives to Connecticut but said it planned to add workers in St. Louis, where the firm was founded.
