4-Alarm fire reported in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A four-alarm fire broke out shortly after noon Friday, blowing smoke across the Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft and slowing traffic in both directions.

The smoke is reportedly coming from the Southwest Inn motel in the 6800 block of the Southwest Freeway.

Houston firefighters are on the scene trying to put out the blaze.

As of 12:35 p.m. heavy smoke was blowing across the free.

There were unconfirmed reports of at least two people injured.

Views from Air 11 showed heavy flames shooting from the motel.

Traffic along the inbound feeder road is being divereted. The smoke is also slowing drivers in the main lanes of the Southwest Freeway.
