(KMOV.com) – An elderly couple was able to escape after a fire swept through their home in the Central West End on Friday.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at the home in the 4600 block of Pershing around 4:30 a.m.
Upon their arrival, they found the house engulfed in flames. They acted quickly and eventually got the fire out.
Officials on the scene said the fire started in a second floor bedroom. Firefighters said an elderly couple who lived at the home was able to get out safely.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
