(KMOV) – Authorities hope detailed surveillance photos can help find a man who robbed a Springfield, Illinois bank on Thursday.

Police said the robbery happened at the U.S. Bank in the 2700 block of South 6th St. around 8:50 a.m.

The photos show the suspect was wearing a bandana when he walked up to the front counter and pointed a gun at the teller and demanded money.

The teller can be seen handing the suspect a bag containing an unknown amount of cash. At one point the suspect’s bandana falls off and his face is captured on surveillance cameras.

Police said the suspect then fled the scene.

Authorities said they believe the suspect may be from around the St. Louis area.
