EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill.—A Metro-East man faces up to life in federal prison after admitting he supplied heroin linked to a man’s deadly 2010 overdose.
Thirty-year-old Joseph Robinson pleaded guilty Wednesday in East St. Louis to distributing the drug that authorities say killed 22-year-old Donnie Bauman. Both men were from Fairview Heights.
Authorities say Robinson sold Bauman $20 worth of heroin about seven hours before Bauman’s relatives found his body in December 2010. Prosecutors say Robinson admits that a syringe found near the body came from him.
Robinson faces at least 20 years in prison when sentenced Sept. 16.
