(KMOV) – A 20-year-old Affton woman was killed after she was thrown from her vehicle on Interstate 55 in south St. Louis County Wednesday evening.
According to police, Lindsey Puff was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix on southbound I-55 near Lindbergh Blvd. around 7 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle.
Police said Puff overcorrected the car and struck a guardrail before she was ejected from the vehicle. Her car then slammed into the back of a BMW.
Puff was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the BWM was not injured.
Several lanes of the highway were closed for more than an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
